Overview

Stingy Campus is a new online marketplace that allows users to buy and sell items, look for housing, search for jobs, and enrich themselves by reading the Stingy Blog.

Though Stingy Campus is geared towards students and the general academic community through the "Class Notes" and "Grade A Professor" services, Stingy Campus provides businesses the opportunity to share their services and products via job postings, housing listings and special promotions. Additionally, Non-Student users will be able to search for jobs, housing, and items for sale. Stingy Campus believes that by helping others save money and facilitating an efficient online marketplace, the entire economy benefits as well as individuals’ lifestyles.

Different Accounts

Student | Aside from the e-commerce services listed above, the Student account allows students to upload, download and search for notes. Additionally, students will be able to grade their professors to make better informed decisions before enrolling in courses.

Non-Students | The Non-Student account will allow anyone to search for or post jobs and housing as well as buy and sell items in the "For Sale" section. The Stingy Blog and Stingy Chat sections will also be made available.

Businesses | The Business account will allow any entity ranging from small businesses to large corporations to search for talent, post jobs, search for housing (facilities, etc), buy and sell items, and read the Stingy Blog to stay up to date on collegiate trends that will impact their target markets.

Behind It All

Our goal is to simplify everyone’s lives by creating a central resource for their everyday needs. We accomplish this by allowing students to post a wide variety of listings for their fellow colleagues to search through. Whether it is a textbook, class notes, or an old iPod you want get rid of without the hassle of mailing it away. Students can communicate to one another, meet up directly on campus, and save one another money.

The goal of this website service is to be student operated, and when using this site they feel like they are communicating with peers in the middle of campus. We want students to feel secure that they are communicating with a reliable correspondence on campus as well as local jobs/internships and housing representatives.

What Makes Us Different?

We want to make it so that our users will be able to interact with others from the same university combining the community atmosphere on campus with the efficiency of the Internet. For example, textbooks are every student's nightmare at the beginning of each school year. No student wants to spend an outrageous price for a book they will potentially only be using for one quarter or semester. One feature of this site allows students to post textbooks at a price that makes it cheaper for the buyer and a better return for the seller versus selling it back to the school. Look for full class notes, find apartments to lease or sub-lease, furniture, local job/internship listings, or just browse. StingyCampus brings college campuses and communities that surround them in closer contact to satisfy each other's needs and increase productivity.
